Spring 2019 Staff Style Guide
Spring time is actually our FAVORITE time of year for Staff Style Guides, chiefly because of it’s vibrant color story! Unfettered by the Winter weather layering doldrums, we get to select garments for their drape, their textile, their fit, and most of all the way they look as we traipse through the sunshine, henny!
Our staff made some selections based on current offerings, but our store is just bursting at the seams with clothing, so be sure to check out our full apparel section here!
Without further adieu, here’s some staff picks:
Elizabeth: Whimsy and Row Margot Jumpsuit in Black: “I was looking for something to wear to this year’s Fade to Light, and this was the perfect blend of sophistication and comfort. I boosted this look with a printed shoe from Dolce Vida, and accessorized with a statement necklace, The Goddess Collar, from Iron Oxide for a more evening ready look. I could, if I wanted to, dress this down and wear it to the beach or a picnic, because it’s super comfortable, but it’s also a rad piece for special events like weddings and parties. The fit is so flattering, and as a petite/XS person, I often have a hard time finding garments that are just right. This has strap adjusters and a really pretty ornamental tie in the back that functions to bring in the waist exactly where you want it.”
Cassie: Altar Houseline Lavender Jumpsuit and Indie Ella Ultra Blue Silk Kimono: “I am having a love affair with color blocking right now. I want colors that contrast and tell a story that is modern and confident. For this reason: I LOVE ultra blue. Pair it with organge, olive, lavender… really anything. It looks elevated. I made the choice to pair this lavender jumpsuit because never in a million years did I think I’d be wearing pastels, and here I am: loving them. This color story reminds me of modern art. I am accessorizing with a new piece, The Stacked Moon Necklace, from Iron Oxide because the newest collection is a perfect balance of geometry and earth, so it harkens to everything I look for from my jewelry.”
Ceara: Altar Houseline Black Woven Batwing Dress: This dress is so soft and breezy, it will be perfect for warm days. The sleeve is really effortless and creates a beautiful line from the waist to the arms. It is the perfect length to be sexy but not "too sexy" and it dresses up or down based on accessorizing. We've seen customers go for a casual tunic look over jeans, and we've styled it with a great Frye boot and a necklace for an evening look. It's one of those LBDs that you'll have in your closet and can trust in any context.
Amy: Altar Houseline Green Slinky Party Dress: "I love this dress because the fit is super comfortable but the textile makes it look elevated. It feels like a great evening party dress because the bishop sleeve gives coverage (and a tiny bit of warmth) for those Spring and Summer evenings that you want to wear a cute dress but night time brings a little bit of chill to the air. The bishop sleeve is also not super overstated, so it feels like a fashionable choice without feeling like it will go out-of-style by the end of Summer the way some sleeve silhouettes seem to do."
Niall: White Steps Bamboo Pleated Pant and solid black turtle neck: "For my outfit I wanted to keep things modern and minimalist with good transitional pieces from North of West. The pants I’m wearing also give me major post punk vibes which reflects my personal style well!"
LaToya: Altar Houseline Golden Moss Jumpsuit paired with Indie Ella Silk Kimono: "For spring I wanted to keep it elegant and effortless! I like the jumpsuit cause it’s vibrant and paired with the robe can easily go from day to night." This bohemian print and color story inspire a beautiful Spring/Summer evening. This entire look is ready for any event-- whether it's heading to a Farmer's market with your pals or hosting a porch cocktail party. The name of the game is luscious textile--and lots of it-- flowing in every direction. It looks chic AF.
