Jamie Spinello
Jamie Spinello is a self taught metal worker, independently handcrafting jewelry and wearable art from beginning to end. Upholding a standard that creates an heirloom quality of one of a kind collectibles, her pieces are meant to serve as conversation starters, totem pieces, and ritualistic amulets. Graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute, she runs her own studio in Austin, Texas, where she creates all sorts of products such as jewelry, paintings, and small sculptures.
Jamie’s jewelry pieces take major inspiration from the natural elements like Artemis leaves, Fern leaves, Feverfew leaves, crystal clusters, snakes and other mystical facets. Because I’m such a lover of snakes, I really adore her Bronze Snake Pendants, and Silver Snake Rings. Inspired by Asclepius the Snake Holder, and Renenutet, the Goddess of Nourishment, these snake pieces symbolize medicine, healing and nursing; all in good intention, and positivity.
Other excellent pieces by Jamie Spinello, available at Altar, include the Hamsa Signet Rings, and Bronze Torque Crystal Cluster Cuff Bracelet and Ring.
The Hamsa Signet Rings are made of complete bronze and represent the Hamsa hand used in Arabic and Hebrew beliefs, as an apotropaic amulet for magical protection from the envious or evil eye. Symbolizing the hand of God, this ring makes an excellent piece to set your intentions with protection and wariness.
The Bronze Torque Crystal Cluster Cuff Bracelet and its matching Crystal Cluster Ring are just as beautiful as Jamie’s other pieces. Designed in wax to first create a model, these pieces are then cast in bronze to replicate crystal clusters and each come as a one of a kind piece.
This line of jewelry aims to supply its customers with ritualistic objects that are close to the heart, and can be utilized as meaningful touchstones meant to instigate special thoughts, new insights, and helpful actions, making them excellent gifts for any loved one.
